Advantages of gas fuels
(1) Combined characteristics of essentially non-polluting combustion.
Gas fuel is a relatively clean fuel. Its ash, sulfur content and nitrogen content are much lower than those of coal and oil fuels, and the dust content in gas is extremely low. Recent years. Due to the advancement of desulfurization technology for gas fuels, the occurrence of Sox can be almost negligible during combustion. The nitrogen contained in gas fuels is converted to Nox less during combustion than other fuels, and the suppression of the amount of Nox generated at high temperatures is easier to achieve than other fuels. Therefore, it provides favorable conditions for protecting the environment. At the same time, gas fuels are transported by pipeline and there is no ash, which basically eliminates harmful gases, dust and noise disturbances that occur during transportation and storage.
(2) Easy combustion adjustment
When burning gas fuel, as long as the nozzle is selected appropriately, it is possible to adjust the combustion in a wide range, and it is also possible to achieve fine-tuning of the combustion to make it in the best condition. The fuel gas fuel can not only adapt to low oxyfuel combustion, but also has the characteristic of being able to quickly adapt to load changes. This provides favorable conditions for reducing combustion consumption and increasing combustion efficiency.
(3) Good operability
Compared with oil fuel, gas fuel delivery does not require a series of viscosity reduction, insulation and heating pre-treatment devices, and storage measures are not required at the customer's premises. Therefore, the gas system is simple, easy to operate and manage, and easy to automate. In addition, gas has almost no ash, allowing a significant increase in flue gas flow rate, and the ash accumulation and pollution on the heating surface is far less than when burning coal or oil, and no soot blowing equipment is required. Under other similar conditions, the thermal intensity of the gas boiler chamber is higher than that of coal-fired and oil-fired boilers, therefore, the small size of gas boilers, metal, refractory, insulation and other materials, as well as construction investment is greatly reduced.
(4) Easy adjustment of heat generation
Especially when burning LPG natural material, adding air to the part avoiding the explosion range, the heat can be adjusted arbitrarily as needed. Therefore, in the LPG storage and distribution station there is a permanent blower or compressed air to dilute the gas.
Disadvantages of gas fuels
The main disadvantage of gas fuel is that it mixes with air in a certain ratio to form explosive gases, and most components of gas fuel are asphyxiating or toxic to humans and animals, placing high demands on the safety technology used.
The following issues should be noted during the use of gas fuels
(1) Corrosion of pipes.
As NH3 is alkaline in water, H2S, SCN, SO2 and CO2 are acidic in water, and O2 causes oxidative corrosion in water, so when the fuel contains the above components and contains water, it will corrode the pipe, so the water contained in the fuel should be removed.
(2) Toxicity to people.
In the gas combustion section contains H2S, SCN, CO, SO2, NH3, C6H6 and other toxic components, when it exceeds the limit of toxicity can cause death, in the use of gas fuel must pay attention to this issue.
(3) the explosion limit range.
Gas fuel in some of the components and air to reach a certain mixing ratio, it may reach the explosive limit range. In the combustion device to stop working, due to poorly closed fuel supply valve or valve damage, it is possible that the fuel leakage into the combustion device and mixed with air to reach the explosive limit, when the ignition is started again will cause explosive accidents. Therefore, in addition to requiring the valve to be airtight, the combustion unit should be purged with air before starting the ignition.
