The gas generator is a reaction furnace used to make gas, water gas and semi-water gas. The furnace body is cylindrical, the shell is made of steel plate or made of brick, lined with refractory bricks, and equipped with charging equipment, blast duct and gas pipeline, etc. According to the structure can be divided into mechanical furnace, step furnace, furnace body rotating furnace and two-stage furnace, etc. According to the process can be divided into fixed-bed or fluidized-bed gas generating furnace.

 

The vaporizing agent mixed by air and self-produced steam enters the furnace from the bottom of the furnace blower, and a chemical reaction occurs to produce crude gas, which is output from the upper part of the gas generator, and then becomes net gas after dust removal and purification. The reaction and arrangement order of each level in the furnace are as follows.

 

1.dry layer

located in the entire coal layer of the uppermost layer, no chemical reaction, only play a drying role, so that the water in the coal into the furnace evaporate.

 

2.Dry distillation layer

below the dry layer is the dry distillation layer, the temperature is higher than the upper layer, which can make the coal dry distillation to get methane and other gas components.

 

3.Reduction layer

Under the dry distillation layer, the high temperature C02 and unreacted gasification agent continue to go up, in the reduction layer C02 and water vapor interact with the red-hot carbon and the reduction reaction occurs.

 

4.Oxidation layer

Below the reduction layer is the oxidation layer, where the fixed carbon in the coal reacts with oxygen in the air to produce carbon dioxide by oxidation, and gives off a lot of heat to keep the furnace at a high temperature, and the oxidation layer is the highest temperature in the furnace.

 

5.Cinder layer

This layer is located in the lowermost layer of the whole coal layer, which plays a protective role for the grate.
