P-phthalic acid (PTA) is one of the most important materials in the chemical production chain, which is widely used in chemical fiber, electronics, construction and other aspects, and closely affects people’s daily life and the development of national economy.
To further expand PTA production capacity and realize the supply balance between upstream and downstream industries of PTA, Tongkun Group, one of the leading textile and chemical fiber enterprises in China, started to integrate the whole industrial chain of "refining -PTA- polyester-spinning-texturing" and set up Jiaxing Petrochemical Co., Ltd. with an annual output of 3.7 million tons of refined PTA.
Not just heating power
Jiaxing Petrochemical's 140MW gas boiler project selects two EC-GR series low-nitrogen combustion equipments with the highest output of 78MW from EBICO, which not only meets the 140MW steam heat required by PTA production line, but also provides fault-tolerant space for the actual production environment.
PTA has the characteristics of slight toxicity. Considering the safety of refining and chemical production, EBICO DCS system works together with safety protection devices, and the "pyramid" control structure makes industrial equipment develop towards digitalization and intelligence.
The monitoring results show that the on-site NOx emissions are all controlled under 30mg/m³, which meets the emission standard of nitrogen oxides of the "double carbon" target. At the same time the CO emissions are all controlled at 0, and the average value of oxygen emissions is also reduced to about 2.6%, which means EBICO is leading the trend in the field of environmental protection.
Not just productivity
PTA is in the upstream link where the cost and profit of the production chain are concentrated in the polyester fiber industry, which is the main business of Tongkun Group. With the continuous expansion of the industry, long-term dependence on imports is no longer enough to fill the supply gap of PTA. On the contrary, the change of supply and demand structure caused by the fluctuation of crude oil price and unbalanced industrial development makes the production face the risks of tight PTA supply, limited cost and profitability of chemical fiber products.
Based on this background, the use of EBICO’s product not only expands the chemical fiber production capacity of Tongkun Group, but also accelerates the construction and improvement of refining links. At present, the actual annual PTA production of Jiaxing Petrochemical has reached 4.2 million tons, and the self-sufficiency rate has reached over 94%.
