Turkmen Amu Darya Natural Gas Project

Although most of Turkmenistan's territory is covered by yellow sand, it is rich in natural gas resources. The proved recoverable reserves of natural gas reach 35 trillion cubic meters, making Turkmenistan the fourth largest natural gas resource country in the world. Turkmenistan is rich in clean energy, while China has broad market demand. Driven by the "one belt, one road" policy, the oil pipeline led by the China Petroleum Company launched the Amu River project. The results of the two sides' cooperation in oil and gas cooperation far exceeded expectations.

Since the Amu Darya project was launched in July 2007, its annual output has exceeded 14 billion cubic meters, its annual gas supply has reached 13 billion cubic meters, and its cumulative gas supply to China has reached 92.2 billion cubic meters. It has been "a model of Turkmenistan's opening-up and cooperation" by President Berdymukhamedov of Turkmenistan.

Behind the brilliant achievements, the geology of the project area is complex, and the surface and climate environment are also very bad.
